Untrenchant: Who are you guys anyway
Untrenchant is a monthly (for now) web magazine, relating the ins and outs of high and low culture as interpreted by a rabble of twenty-somethings with vastly different ideas on cultural elevation. To inappropriately paraphrase Steve Biko, we write what we like; here you will find historical epic poetry nestled in with treatises on the current infield situation of the Minnesota Twins.
It is fair to ask why the Internet needs another irreverent cultural magazine, when there are dozens of other sites out there treading the same ground, proven commodities one and all. To some extent, we are a product of the New Participatory Internet, where barriers to entry are low and everyone is a content producer. To a much greater extent, though, we are the product of our combined liberal arts educations, drawing connections where they are not meant to be drawn and wanting to tell the world about them. And hence we address the void.
